How to Apply to Clarkson Honors

The Clarkson University Honors Program is comprised of intellectually curious undergraduate students interested in pursuing unique opportunities within a cohort of similarly engaged learners.

There are several paths to joining the Clarkson Honors program, including for incoming first-year students, incoming transfer students, current Clarkson School students and current Clarkson undergraduate students. The application process depends upon which type of student you are. For instructions on how to apply, check out the options below.

Students interested in applying to the Honors Program should first apply for admission to Clarkson University. After submitting your Clarkson University application, you will receive your username and password for your Clarkson Application Status Portal, and you should see the Honors Program Application.

The Honors Program Application consists of two short essay questions, a résumé, and a third question which allows you to show and tell us something about you and your passions. Your completed application needs to be submitted by January 15th. TCS student applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Applications open every Fall.

Deadlines

The final date to submit an Honors application, as well as all supplemental materials, is January 15th, unless you are a Transfer, international, or TCS applicant.

Only in exceptional cases will the Honors Program accept applications after this date.

Students interested in applying to the Honors Program should first apply for admission to Clarkson University. In order to be considered for Honors, you must have a 3.25 cumulative GPA. The Honors program admission process includes an additional review of your Clarkson application by our Honors admissions staff. This additional review is solely for Honors admission (your admission to Clarkson University is determined separately).

After you have completed your Clarkson application, reach out to Honors at honors@clarkson.edu and tell us you’re interested in submitting an Honors application.

Deadlines

Transfer applications to the Honors Program will be reviewed on a rolling basis through May 1. Early applications are welcome and they will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee as they are completed. In exceptional cases, the Honors Program will accept applications after this date.

Fast-Track applications to the Honors Program will be reviewed after December 15. Students will be informed of decision prior to the beginning of the Spring semester.

If you are a current Clarkson University student with a 3.25 GPA and at least two years left as an undergraduate, you can apply to join our program. The application opens on an annual basis in May and requires a resume, two short essays, and an optional letter of recommendation. Interested and qualified students can apply by completing this form.
